DISCIPLINE
Every student will receive a copy of the Citywide Standards  ofConduct and Uniform Disciplinary Measures at the  beginningof the school year. The teacher, the student and  the principal can handle most schoolproblems. Occasionally, parents will be involved. As part of the school program, students will  learn how to handle conflict without violence.

At Cobble Hill, as at every New York City High School,  students are not permitted to carry cell phones and CD        or ipods or other electronicdevices. Gang colors, beads or  other paraphernalia are not permitted in the building.

纪律:
      每学年开始，每个学生将收到一本全市统一标准的行为规范及违纪处罚条例。多数违纪问题由老师、学生和校长处理，有时也请家长参与。作为学校课程的一部分，学生将学习如何非暴力解决冲突。
      像纽约市的任何中学一样，在Cobble Hill，学生不准带手机、CD、音乐播放器及其他电子设备。教室内不准出现有帮派标志的颜色、珠子或其他与帮派有关的饰物。


DRESS CODE
Although Cobble Hill does not (at this time) have a formal  dress code, students and staff have agreed that students  must be dressed in attire that is appropriate for school.  Hats may not be worn in the building; girls may not wear  skirts or dresses that are very short.If the staff determines  that a student's attire is not appropriate, the student will  not be  permitted to attend classes until appropriate dress  is  available. A parent will be called and asked to bring a  change of clothes for the student.

着装:
     虽然Cobble Hil中学（目前）没有正式的着装要求，但是学生和老师们都一致认为，学生的装束必须适合学生的身份。学生在教室内不准戴帽子;女生不能穿短裙或很短的衣服。如果老师认为某个学生的装束不合适，学生将不准上课，直到更换得体的衣服为止。学校通知家长送来合适的衣服。

ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is necessary for academic success.      The only legal reasons for absences are: personal or     family illness, death in the family, religious observance, require court appearances and school approved supervised  trips. Students who are absent for any reason must bring   an absence note upon returning to school. If the absence  was caused by illness, the note should be written and  signed by the attending physician.

Each of the student's teachers must sign the absenc  noteand give the student the opportunity to make up  all missed  work.Regular doctor and dentist's 

appointments can be scheduled after school.

出勤：
     按时上课是学业成功的保证。唯一合法缺勤的理由是:个人或家人生病、家人去世、宗教仪式、法庭出庭、学校准许的外出。无论上述哪个原因，返校时都必须带回请假条。如果是病假，假条要有主治医生的签字。
老师必须在假条上签字，学生必须补上缺席的课程。
如果和医生、牙医预约常规检查，可以安排在放学后。

LATENESS
One of the most frequent reasons for lack of success in courses is the student's own failure to get to the class on time.Punctuality is extremely important to every youngster's progress. Unexcused absences take away from valuable learning time and are serious offences. Repeated lateness  to school or to a subject class will require a parent  conference and may result in detention or other disciplinary   action. 

迟到：
    导致成绩不及格最常见的原因之一：学生不按时到校上课。守时对每一个孩子的进步都至关重要。无故旷课不但失去宝贵的学习时间，而且还是严重的违规行为。屡次迟到的话，学校将召集家长开会，学生将面临留校谈话或其他纪律处罚。

MEDICAL EXCUSE FROM PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Regular attendance and participation in physical education classes is required of all students. A student may be excused from participating in activities which could endanger his/her health under written recommendation of  his/her physician. If the restrictions of activities is to be for a prolonged period,the physician must specify the exact duration of therestriction, the medical reasons for  the restrictions, and the types of activities that would be  restricted or eliminated.Alternate work or assignment will  be given to the student during that period.

体育课：
      所有的学生必须上体育课。如果医生出具书面证明不让其参加可能危及他/她健康的活动，那可以不参加。如果这种情况是长期的，医生须注明体育运动受限制的确切时间、医疗原因、哪些运动项目不能参加等。在此期间，要给学生安排别的工作或任务。
STUDENT VALUABLES
Students are cautioned not to bring large amount of money orcameras to school. Students, not the school, are responsible for their personal property.
贵重物品：
      学生不要把大量的现金或照相机带到学校。学生,而不是学校,要负责管好自己的财产。
SUSPENSIONS 
Continuous and willful refusal to accomplish school tasks even though able to do so; insubordination; disorderly, vicious, or immoral conduct, and persistent violation of schoolregulations are causes for suspension from school. 
停课反省：
      能够完成作业，却多次故意不完成作业、不服从管理，有不道德、不检点等恶性行为，多次违反校规校纪，将被停课回家反省。

VISITORS
Because of security considerations, students are not   allowedto bring visitors to school. Parents are always welcomed,but are encouraged to make an appointment to see a  teache the principal, or visit their children's classes.
访客：
     出于安全考虑，不准学生带校外人员进入学校。学校欢迎家长来访，但如果是会见老师、校长，或者听课的话，要事先预约。

THE CAFETERIA
The school cafeteria is maintained as a vital part of the health program of the school. To encourage good nutrition,  a well- balanced lunch is offered at a reasonable price.
The lunchroom management and your fellow students will appreciate your cooperation in:
1. Depositing all lunch litter in the wastebaskets.
2. Leaving the table and floor around your place in a clean condition for others.No food may be taken from the cafeteria.
餐厅：
    学校餐厅是学校健康计划的重要组成部分。餐厅提供营养均衡的膳食，价格合理。
餐厅管理人员和你的同学将会感激你的合作:
1. 把午餐后的垃圾放入垃圾箱。
2. 餐后离开时，给别人留下一个整洁干净的用餐环境。
不准将食物带出餐厅。

HONOR ROLL
After each marking period an honor roll is composed and posted. In order to be placed on the honor roll a student must have an 85 average with no failures in either major or minor subjects.
荣誉榜：
      每学期考试后，学校都张贴荣誉榜。上荣誉榜的学生平均成绩必须85分以上，而且主修、副修科目不能出现不及格。

DISCIPLINE AND SECURITY
Rules of student behavior in school are for the benefit of all. Rules are developed to insure the greatest freedom to the greatest number of people. The following school rules were developed by students, faculty, and parents, in order that students may work successfully with each other and their teachers.
1.All students are expected to show courteous behavior toward each other, faculty and staff, and visitors to Cobble Hill.
2.Attendance and promptness to school and all classes are compulsory.
3. Class cutting will not be tolerated.
4.Radios, ipods, tape recorders, CD players, cameras and other electronic devices should not be brought to school.
5. Students should not trespass at other schools.
6. Gang and gang-like activity will not be tolerated.
7. No gang-related paraphernalia is permitted.
8.Cursing, woofing, threatening people, fighting and attacking people are prohibited.
9. Gambling, stealing, and destroying property are prohibited.
10.Smoking in the building or on school grounds is prohibited.
11. Wearing hats and doo rags are not allowed.
12.Students are expected to dress appropriately for school in order that their clothes do not interfere with learning.
13.Drug use is not allowed. There are harsh penalties for those who use and promote the sale of any controlled substance. 
纪律和安全：
      在校生的行为规则是为了所有人的利益。校规是用来保证最多数人的最大自由。下列校规由学生、教师、和家长共同制订,以便学生彼此之间、学生与老师之间顺利地工作与相处。
1.学生彼此之间、学生对教职员工、对来访者都要彬彬有礼。
2.按时到校上课。
3.不准逃课。
4.不准将收音机、音乐播放器、录音机、CD播放器、相机及其他电子设备带到学校。
5.不准擅入其他学校。 
6.不准拉帮结派，不准组织类似帮派的活动。
7.不准携带和帮派有关的物品。
8.严禁辱骂、叫嚣、威胁他人，严禁打架斗殴、攻击他人。
9.严禁赌博、偷盗、破坏财物。 
10.禁止在室内、操场抽烟。
11.课堂内禁止戴帽子，男生禁止戴doo rags（男生头上戴的围巾）。
12.要穿合适的衣服，以免影响学习。 
13.严禁毒品。对吸毒和买卖任何违禁品的学生严厉惩罚。
